This unit works very well. I have only two small criticisms: It would be nice if they supplied a dash mounting bracket as well as the window sucker - the unit could then be located less conspicuously. Also, when applying power the unit does not always initialise correctly and needs to be disconnected and reconnected.
Hopefully in the near future Pure will make the aerial available separately so the radio can be transferred to a new car.

William Keane, Same Problem on Motorway

I bought this hoping that it would solve the problem I have in the Cumbrian section of the M6 when I lose all my AM stations - mainly TalkSport and Radio 5 Live. Unfortunately, the digital reception is just as bad in that area and the Highway garbles everything to such an extent that you can't listen to it. Reception in the Manchester area was bit hit and miss for a while with some stations, but once I found a suitable place for the aerial it was sorted. Can't say I'm a big fan of all the wires that are needed with the device, but as it's a radio which isn't 'plumbed-in' to the car I suppose I have to accept that. Overall it's a nice wee machine which allows me to hear the football commentaries in crystal clear stereo in the car.

Clive Britton,

Overall this is a very good product. It is easy to install and set up. The FM transmitter's search function is good, it saves messing about trying top find a clear frequency manually. The aerial is not so good, it only seems to work in high signal strength. The overall feel of the unnit is that it feels cheaply made. The top switches are not positive enough, it is difficult to tell if they have been pressed. The switches also rattle over certain road surfaces which is annoying. When using with the headphone, the external aerial is disconnected which is a shame as it is not difficult to make a perfectly good aerial with a length of coax and a coat-hanger (search the internet).
another annoying feature is that it will look for a station but if the signal strength is low it will look once more then revert back to the first station, this is worst if you are driving if the station is on a higher pre-set, the scroll wheel has to be used again and again, which is not safe.
